How can education change your life?
Education, when viewed from a societal standpoint, is used for two primary purposes; either to prepare people for employment or to increase one's social status. However, education can have far more positive impacts than negative ones; as stated by former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, "Education is not preparation for life or work; it’s life".
There are many facts some are there.
Solving problems and changing your life
Although this is a compelling statement, the issue is that many people don't truly understand how education, and our role within society, can change their lives. In today's fast-paced world, in which everyone seems to be on another level with their next thought process, it's easy to lose sight of what's going.
Earn more money and change your life
The most obvious reason why we may not think about our impact on others is that they don't realize how important education truly is, and how much it affects each individual. Not only does learning provide you with knowledge, but it also teaches skills that help make your job easier to obtain. This means that any problem you may have at work can then be solved, increasing your chances of getting promoted to a higher position in life which will ultimately result in you earning more money (or at least paying the bills).
Interest in your goals changes your life
Another potential benefit of educational resources is that they are highly flexible, meaning that anyone with an interesting topic can access them without having to go through all the same steps as someone else who already has the necessary skills. Instead of being told in school what to do, there are multiple paths of study available to you, giving you more opportunities to get things done on your terms. The possibilities are endless, allowing you to achieve anything that may interest you at that moment.
Many opportunities change your life
The last, but certainly not least benefit of education is that it opens up so many doors of opportunity and development for you and your future spouse/partner, enabling you to choose wisely. Because you learn things that you might otherwise never come across on your own, you gain confidence when approaching new situations. You may even find out that you enjoy certain things that interest you at a very young age, leading to the birth of certain passions and interests in later years.
Education is undoubtedly one of the best tools that many people have at their disposal, however, this doesn't mean that it should remain solely about academic content, as mentioned before. People need knowledge and understanding to survive in the modern world, but if we want to create a better place for ourselves, it helps to broaden our horizons and broaden our understanding of various topics. By educating yourself on these topics, you can then educate others to begin to build a better future with more efficient solutions.
Conclusion
In conclusion, education allows us to grow and learn intellectually. It gives us the ability to enhance our perception of the world as we see it, and construct our views of that perception into our core values. With this in mind, I strongly urge those who feel like they haven't quite gotten to where they want to be to start considering enrolling in some sort of college course.
